As well as having the world’s largest permanent display of the work of Whistler, the Hunterian has the largest single holding of the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and The Mackintosh House, the reassembled interiors from his Glasgow home.
The Hunterian also has Scotland’s oldest public museum which is home to one of the largest collections outside of the National Museums.
